Re: Meet the Switch.

If it has the Wii U greatest hits on it then that would give it a decent starting library. Needs third party support, which the guy playing skyrim seems to suggest they could have. I like the list of partners there, would love to play dark souls on the go or just in the comfort of wherever. If they get the third party support I could see this being my favourite console of the next gen. Though that won't be saying much considering that the ps4 and xbox one are driving me more towards the pc than consoles.

Re: Meet the Switch.

Everyones talking about the price and battery life. The thing that worries me the most is how robust it is. Nintendo is usually pretty good at this, but I can't help but think those dinky little parts look like they could be lost or broken really easily.

That Joycon is just begging to be stolen.

Toys R Us Canada may have spilled the beans on the price.

dunno if this deserved bumping, but explain your experience with it thus far?

Re: Meet the Switch.

I fucking adore the Switch, even if I haven't played it THAT much, having only Zelda and Shovel Knight on it so far. But that alone is more than enough for me until we get more titles. The Pro Controller is the best controller I've ever held in my hands btw, it's magnificent. The Joycon thumb sticks are pretty shitty in comparison, but for handheld I guess it's fine if I don't play handheld too much.

After everyone flaming the shit out of it for the price and durability, I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase. I can wait for new titles that interest me to pop up eventually.

But I feel like no one can give you a solid confirmation on whether you MUST buy it or not. Every single experience is personal preference (I'm sure it can be said for every other console as well, but the Switch is more delicate than others), so it's up to you if you wanna see for yourself how Switch would work for you.

I'd say it's been a satisfying experience so far. Much like Lunairetic said, it's going to really depend on how much you can get out of it with its library. I'm definitely looking forward to more multiplayer options for the Switch as it's very portable and one switch can work for two players by itself, even more if there's more joycons or a pro controller involved.

That being said, I do have a few things about it that I'm worried for in the future. For example, there is a way for you to find your joycons within a set radius, it vibrates and blinks its sync lights. The vibration isn't terribly loud, so if it's under your couch it may be harder to hear. Battery life is acceptable for demanding games, but has a longer lifespan on lesser ones, but that may change over time with the battery.

Anyway, I don't have any regrets buying the Switch, I just wish that next year will have a good set of games to watch for.

Re: Meet the Switch.

There's actually some games I'm looking forward to and intending to buy when they come out, like Bloodstained Ritual of the Night, Hollow Knight (don't want it on PC), and I'm praying they'll release Cuphead on it in some part of the future (I know it's shitty Microsoft exclusive atm). Considering Mario Odyssey as well even if I'm not a huge Mario fan. There are more games that I'm not aware of yet (or just forgot about) but I definitely have plans to update my Switch library so the lack of games isn't such a great concern for me. Even if most of the games are already on other platforms, they just feel a lot better on console (if they were on PC) or Switch compared to other consoles (due to handheld mode). For now I'm definitely satisfied. Best of luck to anyone considering purchasing it that it'll be a good experience for you as well, it certainly can be.
